Our bat is still here... and people are scared...

The bat didn't leave... you may have guessed that from the title... He (as we will refer to the bat for the purpose of this blog since I was not willing to go look under the bat's skirt to check it's gender and for the most part men are WAY more stubborn then female when poked with sticks, or that has been my experience) has taken up residence in the outer corridor of TBHTEW. This is causing some of our guests a bit of an issue.. I don't know why... all he is doing is hanging out there... He is about 8-10 feet up on the wall, just hanging there. I would guess he is about the size of the palm of my hand when all folded up, I didn't get real close and put my hand there for size comparison but from what I could see, that is good enough... So anyhow... It was decided by SG and myself that the bat had to go, since there were enough people complaining and I guess they were complaining to SG enough that maybe she was waiting for me to get here as backup, that once her paperwork was done me and her (armed with cameras of course) set out to save the day (I wish I had had my cape with me...lol...). So we get out there and first we took pictures of the bat, he has not as yet been named, if he sticks around I am sure he will be eventually. When we were done taking pictures it was decided that SG being taller would be the stick holder... yes, stick holder... the plan was to gently rub the bat with a stick and try to encourage it to fly away... good plan, right??? LMAO... NO!!! That bat didn't like our plan, that is for sure! For one thing, he didn't fly away, for two, did you know that an angry bat sounds like an angry mouse? Yes, they put their little wings out a bit and make loud angry mouse noises when you rub them with a stick... they don't like being rubbed with sticks... just so you know... and there is probably not a lot of things funnier than one girl (with her hood up to protect her identity) holding a stick hanging over a railing trying to rub a bat, while another girl hides behind her on the stairs holding the bottom of her hoodie in one hand and her camera in the other and takes pictures on the event... I know we heard some laughter while this was all going on, and everytime that bat moved even a fraction of an inch, we jumped back like it was 6 feet tall and not 3 inches...
Moral of this story... If you are ever at TBHTEW and you see a bat on the wall... don't ask me to "Make it go away" cause I will say "We will get right on that" and then leave it alone... cause it isn't going anywhere near you, it wants to be left alone just as much as you want to be left alone...

When folks complain about Batty you should inform them that he is the new mosquito control agent. If you make him go away the mosquito population will climb dramatically!
