8-1-09... I saved a life... No really.. I could very well have...

Nothing to exciting happened all night long... little bit of laundry, little bit of cleaning, you know.. the usual... a few people checked in, a few people left cause they just could NOT stay in TBHTEW, nothing out of the ordinary... That is, until... BL got here and I was telling her about what happened on my shift and giving her a reg card that somebody was going to call about and a little boy about 2 1/2 years old come running into the lobby from up the hallway, he was crying hysterically. If you are a Mom (the kind with a capital M) then you know that cry, the one where the kid if frantically worried about something, well, that is the cry that was emitting from this child, so I step out of the office to see where the parents are... and there are none to be found, so I followed the child, he ran out of the hotel into the parking lot (still crying) and he proceeds to run around the cars and I'm asking people out there if they know who this child belongs to, and nobody does... so I am tring to get thing kid to stop running and he is looking at me all scared cause I am NOT Mom... then he takes off toward the front of the hotel, that would be where the 4 lane Highway is... um.. YEAH... I moved my ass a bit faster then.. I caught him about 10-15 feet away from the Highway, he was a quick little bugger! Once I grabbed him and picked him up he stopped yelling so much, I asked him what his Mom's name was, and I think he told me his name...lol... and then I told him lets go find your mom and then I carried him into the hotel, I went into the office and sat him on the counter and within just a minute or 2 a couple ladies came up and said they found him mom and that she was coming up to the office to get him.. I told them thank you... Mom shows up and says that his sister was suppose to be watching him while she loads the car, Ok, I am expecting that there was probably a random teenager in some trouble now... NO... a little bit later a little girl, maybe 7-8 years old comes in through the front door looking like she is about to cry and says that she is looking for her little brother and she starts to describe him, I let her know that her Mom already got him, and she said Ok, and thank you and takes off...

So... Lesson for the day people... If you are in a strange place, like not your home, DON'T have your young child watch your very young child while you do ANYTHING with the door open... cause they don't know where they are and they get lost easily... That poor baby was scared to death and couldn't find his Mom, and the sister was scared and couldn't find her brother... And you never know who could have snatched up that cute little blond hair, blue eyes baby boy and took off with him in just a moment... or he could have been hit by a car right there on the highway...

Later folks
