7-31-09... The night is not over, but I have a moment..

So lets get this done...

Why is the Vacancy light on? How many times in one night can I be asked this? I am NOT suppose to turn that light off until the last reservation comes in, that is it... I am sorry... and i have told about 100 people that tonight, and why do you complain about our policy? Just get the hell out of my hotel, is your complaint going to get you a room? Do you think I make this policy? NO! I don't! All it does is cause me trouble... ALL NIGHT LONG!!! I just smile, be polite and use my people skills :)

So... There was this one chick... GRRR... I wanted to kick her in the freaking head!! She walking up to the desk and asks if we have any rooms available (its 12:10), and I tell her no we do not, so she walks out, and then about 10 minutes later she walks back in and says where is the girl that was wearing the white shirt? She said that if the people that had reservations don't show up by 12 that we can have their rooms! Well.. I don't believe that... and i have a note that says 12:30 and since she was a pain in my ass and kept harassing me I made her wait till even later than that... once again people... DON'T PISS OFF THE DESK CLERK!!! A lady with a reservation came in, signed the reg card and then decided that she wasn't staying after all, so she checked out, she never even went into her room, so I got her key back, right ofter she handed me her key a guy comes in and asks if I have a room, I sayed yes, this lady just cancelled so he got her room, he left and that one chick that was annoying me comes in the door and says to me "I know he didn't have a reservation cause I saw him at another hotel that we were looking at, so how did HE get a room???" and I had to explain to her how he got a room... so... I made her wait longer to see if my reservations would show up... once again... DON'T PISS OFF THE DESK CLERK!!! Then she says "Well... We are going to wait here in your lobby just in case that happens again, so we can be the first ones in line, unless we can be put on a list or something... is there a list????" I told her that there is no list... so she says they are just going to wait in the lobby... Fine... you are going to be waiting a while... once again... (say it with me...) DON'T PISS OFF THE DESK CLERK!!! Really... If you want good treatment, then you really should act nicely... You have to wonder, did their momma's ever teach them ANY manners at all? Ever? And if they did, at what point did they forget them? I know I was taught manners... and I choose when to use them, I use them dealing with the general public, Grandparents, people that I want to hire me for a job, you know that kind of thing... AND when I want somebody to give me something, like a hotel room... yeah... like then... The final straw was when this chick told me that she had a room reserved across the street, but it was $109, and since ours was less than that she cancelled that reservation and was just waiting for a room at ours... Are you serious? You should have kept the other one and saved yourself the trouble...

And on a little side note here... Our fax machine got fixed... So now it rings at odd times of the night.. like a telephone, but there is nobody there, cause it is a fax machine, not a phone... and then once in a while we even get a fax... Just another item in the hotel that is possessed...
