Do I stay or do I go??

Only it is "Do I work or do I not?" Do you get my drift? We don't know if we are opening the hotel this weekend or not!! Just in case you don't know... today is Wednesday, actually it is currently thursday, but since I haven't gone to sleep we are going to still count it as Wednesday... so just bare with me here.. ok??? Thanks!! I also am not sure if I get a paycheck on Friday or if they will be holding it for a week, that would be nice info to know... But we aren't being told... It isn't the BL that isn't telling us... it is the higher up that isn't telling us... We find out Friday... Yeah... so don't try to make any plans... M'Kay????

So... Onto what happened at The Best Hotel There Ever Was today... I went in to clean... BL was there, as well as FG, Princess, and FG brought CP with her... All we did was clean a few rooms, just the stuff that the maids didn't do. I was happy to have the hours... but really? All the running up and down the stairs cause my dumbass kept forgetting things did a number on my knee... good thing I am use to it... right??? lol... Oh well... Hopefelly Doc will fix it soon... While are work today CP took a few pics, and when I downloaded them I found a pic I took the other night, so I figured I would toss those on here... CP got a good pic of one of the bunnies in the back, and I got a pic of me holding the baby bird that we found on the sidewalk, and there is a pic of a spider that I think SG named Charlie...

So we found a baby bird on the sidewalk and its little beak was broken and it was definatly going to die... CP wanted to go find it some food, so FG told him that was fine, go get a worm, chew it up, and then spit it into the baby birds mouth, cause that is how he eats... and i thought that poor little CP was going to be sick... It was kinda cute that he wanted to save that ugly little thing...

But we got finished pretty early and we got to go home... no angry guests to deal with, no birds running into windows, only did a tiny bit of laundry... it was not a bad day... I didn't even mess up any paperwokr!!! Hells yeah!!!

I don't know when I will be working again, but you will all know... cause that is the next time that I will be typing at you...

What happened in the Hotel was... That!!!

My 3rd day

Ok... This day was great!!! I had gotten some sleep (thank you Vicodin for making my knee stop hurting!!) and when I got to the Best Hotel There Ever Was... There was a list of what I needed to get done on my shift... This was a huge help, because before this I didn't know... The list consisted of :



Cleaning all the doors in the lobby
Sweeping and mopping the lobby
Cleaning the bathroom
Sweeping and mopping the stairs (both sets)
Getting the rest of the laundry done
Wake up calls
pulling reg card
putting in dirty cards
Shift report
Batch report
my part of the big white paper thing
turn off lights at dawn
setting out breakfast
call BL at 6:45am (she has trouble waking up)


I think that is all that was on there, but I could be mistaken.. I have bad memory sometimes... SG did some of this before I came in, thank you SG.


So I got all of that done and I still had time to sit down a little bit, my back was hurting and my knee was killing me...

But there was this group of people, 7 people to be exact, that came in around midnight 30 and got a room with 3 bed, and they were obnoxious... the room next to them came down stairs and complained and I had to call up to them and ask them to please keep the noise down to the other guest could sleep, and they pretended like they were tired and sleeping... BULLSHIT... and they came through the lobby at like 3-4 am giggling... and when I was sweeping the steps at 5:30am I could still hear them in their room and they opened there door when they heard me out in the hall going past to turn the lights off at dawn and when I went back past their room there was then a do not disturb sign on it... so when BL came in at 8am I told her about it, and she made sure to call them at like 9:30 - 10am to remind them that 11am is check out time... LMFAO... don't mess with the grouchy hotel clerk... we mess back...

So I am ready to leave and it is like 7:50am and I see a black streak out of the corner of my eye and then I hear a THUD... I walk out into the lobby and there is a black bird on the floor... I walk toward it talk real sweet telling it that it should go out that door over there by its left... that stupid bird got up took a few little hops and flew into another window!! I ended up getting a towel and scooping it up and carrying it around with me and when BL got there I carried it with me while we walked and it suddenly revived itself and then flew into another window!!! Well, that time it looked even worse!!! So I got it wrapped up again.. and took it with me when i left... it came back to life while I was driving... no harm done to me, the car, or the bird... thing ended up flying away just fine...

Next time, I am going to get a towel, take the bird and set it on the step out front... it can have all the time it wants to revive.. I will go home by myself... bird can sit there until a cop comes and gets it!!

My first 2 days

I didn't know what the hell to do... I came in early so I could kind of get the hang of the check in card thing and hopefully not mess up to badly... I think I did ok... But besides that I didn't know what my duties were really... I was suppose to do laundry...but I forgot to do that... because for the first 2 days I sat there reminding myself not to forget to do everything else... "don't forget to do breakfast" "Don't forget to wake up BL" just don't forget to do this and that and this and that... and so I forgot to so the dang laundry... And I didn't get any sleep either of those mornings at home... so that kind of sucked... and people kept getting mad cause their rooms were dirty... hello... seasonal... I think we went over this... but anyways... We got threw it... I LOVE MY JOB... I LOVE MY JOB... I LOVE JOB...

Seasonal means...

That the hotel is closed all winter long...

As in not opened....

As in nobody comes in and cleans...

As in the spiders move in...

And they grow... HUGE...

And the flys... are HUGE.... cause nobody is there to kill them....

And it smells when we open...

Sorry...

If you want to have a nice place to sleep...

go somewhere else...

Somewhere that is open all year around....

Somewhere that has maids to clean before they open...

I will do my best to be friendly to you...

I will give clean towels..

I will give you Pepsi cans...

I will give you a room key...

And I will set out your complimentary breakfast (um ya, that would be frozen danishes and Cinnamon rolls, you have fun with that...lol... We set that out on second shift to defrost and I put them on a platter around 5:30am)

But I will not be having anybody I know stay at my hotel... nope... Sorry....
